Hello, my name is Katerina Ballamoti. I am the representative of the Hellenic foundation for culture in Iran.
-What is your opinion towards the 33rd international book fair in Tehran?
I would say that the book fair is very well organized. Here is a very beautiful exhibition. It has a lot of interests because there are so many participants especially the books of the Iranian publishers and the organizations, they are presenting the material that they have very well. They have also good speeches, presentations and storytelling here. All of them are really nice. Congratulations.
-Are you a publisher or responsible for the booth here?
We are not a publisher. We are in Bonyade-farhange- Younan in Iran. This is the only thing that I know in Farsi
-What is the subject of your book?
The books that we have selected this year in this booth are based on our Greek mythology and we have decided to bring books especially for children. So we have selected three publishers from Greece that they are expertise on Greek mythology in order to be able to introduce the all Greek heroes to the young children of Iran.
-If you want to introduce a good book to us what it would be?
My choice would be Odyssey by Homer or Iliad which is similar to your Shahnameh. I believe young child can read Odyssey book. We have simplified version of the books here and also Odyssey book is about life basically. So even mothers can read it to their kids and we get to know many things about culture, history and mythology of Greece but also about global let’s say moral values that is dressed to every person in every culture of the world. So if I have to recommend a book odyssey by Homer would be my choice.
